Introduction

Established in 1995, the California Association of Tree Trimmers (CATT) became the State Compensation Insurance Fund in California Safety Group 529 for Tree Trimmers Workers’ Compensation Class Code 0106.

In 1999 the California Association of Tree Trimmers and Landscapers, Inc., also referred to as CATTLand, became a California Corporation formed by Gloria Cordle, to oversee and manage the Safety Group 529.

Member Eligibility

Safety Group 529 Workers' Compensation Class Code 0106 represents employers and their employees in the following professions - Tree Pruning, Repairing or Trimming.

To be a member and eligible for Safety Group 529 you need to follow these requirements:

	A current policyholder with State Compensation Insurance Fund in California.
	A California employer with 51% of your payroll under the Workers' Compensation class code of 0106.
	A Workers' compensation policyholder for a minimum of 1 year maintaining with a low loss ratio, or
	Have a qualifying low Loss-Ratio and a low Ex-Modification Ratio over a 3-year period.
	Meet State Fund’s underwriting guidelines.
	Pay a small annual membership fee.

Membership Benefits

California Association of Tree Trimmers members are eligible for the following benefits:

	Receive a 6% Savings off State Fund’s annual Workers’ Compensation premium.
	You must meet State Fund’s guidelines that include a loss ratio of less than 65%, and an ex-modification ratio of less than 125%.
	Receive approximately $400 Savings on the initial State Fund Workers’ Compensation Insurance premium minimum deposit.
	10% Claims Free Premium Credit - Discount. Meeting underwriting guidelines for claims under $1,000 at renewal your business MAY qualify - Contact your agent or State Fund Customer Service. CATT is always available to assist.

Additional Benefits - What we do for our members:

	Follow-up with State Fund on behalf of members when losses occur, and assist with loss and safety control claims by organizing special meetings with State Fund for members who request a safety meeting, or who have high losses.
	Continue to monitor group and individual high losses based upon State Fund’s loss control guidelines, in order to maintain the integrity of the group.
	Advocate legislation and regulation issues related to the Horticulture industry
	Provide an updated website, newsletters and alert-bulletins to keep members informed regarding their industry from legislative and insurance issues to products, programs and regulations as they occur.
	Aid members with Cal/OSHA Compliance information.

California Association of Tree Trimmers primary function is to provide a 6% savings to group members who meet State Fund’s underwriting guidelines, of having a low loss ratio of less than 65%and a low ex-modification ratio of less than 125%, as well as a comprehensive benefit package.
